Reiki Master/Teacher Course
Lewes, East Sussex

Welcome!
I am so very honoured to be making this step with you, the Master level of your Reiki journey!

Location
We’ll be learning from my shepherd’s hut in Barcombe which is planted by a lovely co-working space. There is plenty of free parking. We’ll be surrounded by woodland, lots of birds singing, and the energy of Mama Nature.

What to bring
I will be giving you a detailed course manual, but do bring a notebook and pen. Please also bring a water bottle, lunch and snacks (this course tends to create a large appetite) along with anything else you might like for comfort. I’d also recommend wearing a decent pair of shoes for walking on the South Downs, along with a raincoat - just in case.
If you fancy a swim, Seaford beach is only 15 minutes away (by car or train) - you can get there by travelling to Bishopstone station from Lewes, or put Buckle Car Park into your sat nav. If that sounds appealing, pack a swimsuit and towel!
-
Meals
Please bring lunch with you as there aren’t any places close enough to get food.
If you’re staying in Lewes, the town has lots of cafes and restaurants and there is also a Waitrose and Tesco. I like bruch at The Depot (by the station) or you might try The Rights of Man for tapas, Zorbas for Turkish food, Fuego Lounge for salads or burgers, or Erawan for delicious Thai.

Where to stay
Wildish Healing is just fifteen minutes outside of lovely Lewes, a charming medieval town surrounded by the South Downs and their wonderful walking trails, very close to Brighton and the sea. For those wanting to stay and traveling by train, I’d recommend looking in Lewes which has lots of cute Bed & Breakfasts, ample listings on Airbnb, and a Premier Inn. Also close by are plenty of beautiful camping sites and off-grid type cabins if you fancy being immersed in nature and making a retreat out of it.
If a trip to the sea is calling you, Seaford beach is only 10 minutes away on the train (or 15 by car) - you can get there by travelling to Bishopstone station from Lewes. If that sounds appealing, pack a swimsuit and towel! If you’re coming by car, the most beautiful beach is only a 20 minute drive away - it’s called Cuckmere Haven and is on the crest of the magical Seven Sisters.
How to prepare:
In this time leading up to Shinpiden, your daily self-treatments are a rich resource. See them as a devotional practice to your own healing journey. You will be learning how to pass attunements, and to do so fluidly it will be so helpful to know all the symbols by heart. Here’s a PDF copy of the Symbols section of your Master Manual (which you’ll receive on the course) to help.
You might also like to rev-up your self-care routine by meditating, journaling, mindfully walking, and reading spiritual books - all wonderful ways to nurture yourself.
Please use this time as the ultimate excuse to rev-up your self-care. Make it a non-negotiable part of your day. What is your self-care routine? It can be long walks, yoga, meditating, journaling, getting together for intimate Reiki Shares with friends, treating yourself with kindness, eating food that makes you feel alive, or whatever feeds you on a deep soul level. Perhaps read a spiritual/Reiki book, and try meditating regularly.
You might want to give a few Reiki treatments to friends or clients over the next weeks to gain more experience.
Please have a look at the Reiki 2 symbols again! It is vital to really know them by heart. We use them in the attunements so please do memorise them before the course. For those that haven’t learned the Japanese lineage with the kotodama (chants) we will go over this on our first day together.
Most importantly: Use Reiki for yourself every day! This may be a self-treatment, using the Japanese breathing techniques like Joshin Kokyu-ho, reciting the Reiki Principles, or meditating on the symbols.
Perhaps refresh your memory of the system by re-reading your Reiki 1 + 2 Manuals.
Optional but recommended reading: Frans Stiene’s books - either Reiki Insights, or The Inner Heart of Reiki, or my book, The Reiki Way.
During the attunement ritual, you will be drawing the symbols over and over again. You will absolutely appreciate knowing these by heart before learning the ritual! This way you can get out of your head and into the energy during the attunement. The ritual has quite a few steps so having the symbols memorised will allow you to better focus on the attunement process itself and get into flow with the beautiful energy of it. We will go over the meanings early in the course, but please try to commit the first three symbols to memory before we begin.
We’ll also learn the fourth symbol, Dai Kômyô. You will need to know this one for the attunements as well but it’s quite straightforward once you know what each part means. Sharing it here for those who would like to become familiar with it ahead of time.
